TITLE: The Banquet
PRODUCT/ BRIEF: The Fendi Baguette Bags are one the most iconic bags through time and to mark the brands relaunch of their cult product the bags were shown in a four page advertorial in the ‘Unrecognised’ issue of RUSSH Magazine.
THE IDEA: The Baguette bag in the scene of a Vanitas. A vanitas is a symbolic work of art showing the transience of life, the futility of pleasure, and the certainty of death, often with contrasting symbols of wealth and symbols of ephemerality and death. Here each bag is shown amidst a scene of classic vanitas symbols with the soft lighting a further nod to classical painting. The images are portraits of the bags owner beyond their visual likeness. Also, the series is a play on the ‘What’s In Your Bag’ series where celebrities and models on youtube show the viewer the contents of their bag. The idea here is that the bag becomes you, the bag is your lifestyle and you carry yourself in your bag. Which bag are you? And which bag will you buy?
